The customer must provide the reference number at the top of the notice in order to submit the insurance information.

What if a vehicle owner received an ILIVS notice and the vehicle is stored or inoperable?
If the vehicle is STORED or INOPERABLE, the vehicle owner can electronically submit the information to ILIVS using the www.ILIVS.com website and the reference number at the top of this notice. They will be required to fill out an electronic affidavit along with their electronic signature. The vehicle owner must notify the insurance company or SOS prior to driving this vehicle on the Illinois roadways.

What if a vehicle owner received an ILIVS notice and the customer’s vehicle has been sold?
If the vehicle is SOLD, the vehicle owner may surrender their license plate at any SOS Driver Services facility.

What happens if the vehicle owner does not respond to the ILIVS notice?
If the vehicle owner fails to comply with this notice by the Due Date, the registration will be suspended and the vehicle owner will be charged $100.00 to reinstate registration privileges. Your vehicle cannot be driven by anyone while its license plates are suspended. The minimum fine for driving a suspended vehicle is $1,000.

What if the vehicle owner no longer possess vehicle license plates but are still registered to them?
